Chase the Storm - V.M Waitt

This book is about a young college kid who is trying to find himself. He knows that following in the footsteps of his father is not what he wants. So in a moment of clarity he buys a truck and heads for the open road. Said truck breaks down in the middle of nowhere and needing funds and a place to stay he lands a job at a farm.

The kid quickly falls in lust/love with the owner of farm.

Does this sound familiar???

Why yes it did, at least to me.

Then the kid and farmer hook up. (Oh, that was a surprise.) The farmer then feels guilty. (Really???) Tries to push the kid away. Back "n" Forth. On again relationship until the end of summer where for the good of the kid the farmer fires him and sends him back to college. Let the water works commence.

After changing his major he finds school is actually fun, but he pines for his farmer.

Three years later (After no contact) he gets back in his truck and heads to middle of nowhere.

The farmer welcomes him back with open arms and they live Happily ever after.

This is not a bad book. Part of me actually enjoyed it.( The hopeless romantic part.) I just don't think it's all that original. I have read other m/m and m/f novels with a very similar plot.

I would recommend this book to those who are new to the genre and read at your own whim if your a seasoned pro.
