Floodgates - Mary Calmes

I'm a fan of Mary Calmes.  There's a part of me that likes knowing what I'm about read even before I read it. It's comforting.

A world filled with friends meeting for drinks and laughs.

The men are beautiful and the women gorgeous no matter their size/age.

One character wants to be submissive and the other dominant.

There's lots of kissing, knuckles caressing necks, and feeding eat other.

They want to settle down, have a life together, and possibly have kids in the future.

Of course, life is filled with accidents, kidnappings, bullet wounds, and old boyfriends.

Floodgates is a classic Mary Calmes tale. It has all of the above.

Now is it her best...No, it's not.

Why?

There was no mystery. Once the character was presented I knew he was the killer. And it was obvious why.

I didn't understand many of the actions of the cops. ( Didn't make sense.) The characters were put more in harms way then kept safe.

The cheating boyfriend was unsympathetic.

Now at times I was having major flashbacks to "A Matter of Time" series. These characters were practically interchangeable, and it made me a little ( maybe more than a little) disappointed.

So here's my opinion. It's not her best work. It's to predictable. The storyline is unoriginal. She's wrote something far to similar with better results. So unless you're a huge fan I would pass.
